Description

In 2020, we constructed a new building at Aeschiweg 81 in Hondrich to replace the former farmhouse. We are also currently evaluating compatible solutions for Aeschiweg 85 + 81 together with the Office for Local Authorities and Spatial Planning (AGR) and the municipality. The local architectural features will be taken into account in the implementation and architectural design. A replacement construction project will be developed for both buildings.

Village

Spiez has been divided into five rural districts since time immemorial: Spiez, Faulensee, Hondrich, Spiezwiler (formerly Wyler) and Einigen. Hondrich is the smallest outlying district of Spiez with around 870 inhabitants.

Simultaneously, the village represents the "highest farm", as its name derived from "Honrain", meaning high rain, suggests. Nestled between Hondrichhügel and Faulensee, the moraine hill curves from the Krattigstrasse to the Kander river banks in Stegweide. Well-tended farms emphasise the rural character of the farming district. Hondrich is in a quiet location with a wonderful view of Lake Thun. Spiez and direct access to the A8 motorway, along with access to public transport, are just a 5-minute drive away.
