The Delta Privé development is located on land where the Kander River flows into Lake Thun. Geologically, the areas is very young, as the Kander was only redirected into Lake Thun around 300 years ago (1714). For structural reasons, all new buildings (in contrast to the earlier buildings in the area) were constructed by the Frutiger company with pile column foundations. As it was impossible to build while surrounded by water, the lagoon as kept dry during the construction work with sheet pile walls and a lowering of the groundwater level, on average approx. 1.8 m below the lake levels. All flats and the villas share theDeltaparkHotel's infrastructure  - from the wastewater pumping station, to the heating, TV providers, visitor parking, and wellness facilities.

The two apartment buildings with a total of eight 4 ½-room flats and boat mooring docks were completed in 2017. Seven additional lakeside villas with car garages and indoor boat berths were built on the man-made private lagoon.

The development is located halfway between the Kander Delta and the Bonstettenpark - directly on Lake Thun beside the 4*Star Deltapark Vitalresort Hotel which opened in 2016. There are schools and many diverse opportunities for shopping on the way towards Thun.

Village

Gwatt forms the southernmost part of the municipality of Thun, stretching along the railway line and the main road between Thun and Spiez. Its direct connection to the A6 motorway, optimal accessibility by public transport and proximity to the centre of Thun (reachable in a few minutes) and Spiez (approx. 20 minutes) and Bern (approx. 30 minutes) makes Gwatt an attractive place to live and work. The proximity to  Lake Thun, the Aare River, and famous ski resorts in the Bernese Oberland adds to the year-round fun and enjoyment.
