Herreney Interlaken Building stage III

In the Bernese Oberland, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, the Herreney development was built on the peninsula between the shipping canal and the Aare. The site is located in the municipality of Interlaken, on the municipal border with Unterseen. The project was developed within the framework of a competition and was finally defined in a development regulation. Construction work on Herreney started in the spring of 2017 with the first of three stages after the main sewer line "Bödeli" (which dates back to 1912) was relocated. Already in the competition program, an elevation of the overall site by about 1.20 m was foreseen, this in order to minimize material removal and to avoid the groundwater level (lying on average about 2 m lower than the original terrain or 3.20 m below the finished terrain). In addition, the Bödeli Threshold Cooperation flood protection project with partial renaturation of the Aare River was completed in summer 2018. In the first stage, a total of 45 condominiums and 37 rental apartments were built by the end of 2018. In the second stage, a total of 74 apartments in 9 buildings, including 21 rental apartments in 2 courtyard houses, were built by the beginning of 2021. Following the second stage, the last stage of construction was the construction of the city villas apartment buildings. The construction start was in spring 2021. 15 residential units will be built in total, 5 condominiums will be sold.
