Terrace houses Höheweg

The Höheweg terrace development was built in Thun in a wonderfully elevated location overlooking the city. The first contact for the building land on the Lauenen were made in the summer of 1998 by the Gerber/Gindely-Gerber Community of Heirs. Uncertainties about the development, the very low utilisation rate and complicated building laws for terraced housing prevented the conclusion of a contract at that time. In the following years, the feasibility of terraced housing was clarified with two project variants, the utilisation rate was increased and the unanswered development questions were clarified. Six years later, in December 2004, the purchase contract was signed. As terraced houses were not covered in the City of Thun's building regulations, the legal basis had first to be created with a development ordinance (UeO). Approval was granted on 23 November 2008, and the groundbreaking ceremony took place shortly afterwards. The development was completed in 2010 and comprises a total of 28 3 ½ to 6 ½-room flats in three terraced building. The entire development fulfills all Minergie standard requirements.
