Peter Hauenstein is set to begin his well-earned retirement in October 2023, yet he will continue serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In November 2020, Peter Hauenstein handed over the operational management to his twin daughters, Andrea and Nathalie Hauenstein, along with Daniel Eschmann.

The Deltapark Vitalresort in Gwatt, near Thun, was completed and officially opened eight years following the acquisition of the land. The total investment reached to the upper two-digit million range.

Daniel Eschmann has been appointed as operational manager alongside Peter Hauenstein.

Peter Hauenstein acquired the Gwatt Centre, encompassing 86,000 m² of land by Lake Thun, transforming it into today's Deltapark Vitalresort with lakeside villas and a lagoon. Currently, the Deltapark Vitalresort is managed under the umbrella brand Hauenstein Hotels, which is part of the Hauenstein Group.

Walter Hauenstein died in 2005.

Peter Hauenstein, the son of Walter Hauenstein, officially assumed the management of the company on its 50th anniversary.

The entire Hohmad Park site was acquired by W. Hauenstein Immobilien AG in 2001. The central old farmhouse was thoroughly renovated and converted into a restaurant by Hauenstein Immobilien AG (previously WHI AG): the present-day Burehuus Restaurant. Today, the Restaurant Burehuus falls under the Hauenstein Hotels umbrella brand within the Hauenstein Group.

In 1998, W. Hauenstein Immobilien AG acquired the Solbadhotel in Sigriswil. It has been successfully managed by the Wicki family since 2000. Today, the Solbadhotel is managed under the umbrella brand Hauenstein Hotels, a division of the Hauenstein Group.

In 1997, W. Hauenstein Immobilien AG purchased the Belvédère Strandhotel, from the Swiss Master Butcher Association after they constructed the ABZ. All necessary investments were made and the hotel was reopened in 1998. Today, the Belvédère Strandhotel is managed under the umbrella brand Hauenstein Hotels, a division of the Hauenstein Group.

Hauenstein Immobilien AG has been a fully-owned subsidiary of Hauenstein Invest AG since 1991. Hauenstein Invest AG serves as the parent company of the Hauenstein Group. It does not conduct any operational activities, acting instead as the financial intermediary throughout the Group.

Due to two serious illnesses of Walter Hauenstein, his son Peter stepped in to manage emergency affairs on an interim basis while pursuing his studies to become a Bernese advocate.

The Grizzlybär Country Inn, rich in heritage, was acquired from the Berner Kantonalbank by W. Hauenstein Immobilien AG following multiple bankruptcies. The Grizzlybär Country Inn is now operated under the umbrella brand Hauenstein Hotels, part of the Hauenstein Group portfolio.

The sole proprietorship evolved into the public limited company W. Hauenstein Immobilien AG, now operating as Hauenstein Immobilien AG.

Walter Hauenstein acquired the Hotel Krone in Thun in 1968 upon the recommendation of the mayor of Thun back then. Nowadays, the hotel belongs to his eldest son, Urs Hauenstein, who also owns and manages U. Hauenstein Heizung Lüftung und Sanitär AG.

Walter Hauenstein (May 24, 1930 - March 10, 2005), born to a working-class family, established a small business that paved the way for the 60-year success story of Hauenstein Immobilien AG today.
